Post by: thedoc on 28/07/2015 13:50:01
Nelson Pinheiro asked the Naked Scientists:

I'm trying to build a small working version of the space fountain. do you think it's possible. i would love to hear the pros and cons from you guys and gals. Also since i am just a hard working guy trying to change our future, would you have any advice or helpful tips for a guy that feels like i am in over my head.

What do you think?

Sure. Floppy plastic sheet tube. Garden hose with jet sprayer attachment.

Spray up into the tube and it should rise as a parabola.

Maybe a strip of velcro along the tube could allow a light-weight motorized wheel to climb it.
