What is the temperature of space?
[:D]
-
I am not sure the idea of temperature applies to empty space. We normally think of temperature as the movement of molecules and their interaction with each other.

Its very cold about: 2.71 K.

It is a bit complicated. Deep space a long way away from any galaxies probably has a temperature associated with the cosmic microwave background as Mr scientist implied bit there are a few atoms around and most of these are moving quite quickly and so they represent quite a high temperature. Near the sun the electromagnetic and particle radiation from that increases the background temperature as does the starlight from our galaxy.
