Umm... will it blow up and explode and kill everybody within a 10 meter radius?

Nothing particularly strange happens, it simply releases oxygen when mixed with water:
2Na2CO4 → 2Na2CO3 + O2
Notice that the solution becomes alcaline, so you would have to correct the pH.
However it's not so effective as chlorine in disinfect and cleaning the pool's water.

Whoa! I didn't know such thing existed (Na2CO4).

Whoa! I didn't know such thing existed (Na2CO4).
It's also used as a substitute of perborate in whitening washed tissues.

I'm not at all sure it does.
The "percarbonate" used in washing etc is not really a percarbonate. As the thread title indicates it's a compound of H2O2 and Na2CO3 that is like the hydrate; the stuff has hydrogen peroxide of crystalisation.

So you think it's like Na2CO3xH2O2? [???]

Yes.

Some of the peroxide decomposes as it disolves.

I think that you are correct. Italian wiki this time has deceived me:

I'll try to modify it.

No, if you want something that explodes when it comes in contact with water you'll want Group I Metals Period 5 onwards.

So what do you think will happen lancenti?

No.
Ok, it's not 10 meters, just 9.90  [;)]

No, no, I'm joking, it doesn't happen anithing (apart maybe some bubbles of O2).
