I heard that there was a man who told a women that she should leash her dog. She called the police and said that he threatened here. The police came and be\eat the man to death. Does anybody knw where I can find news of tis online?

I saw a story where a woman complained to the police about a black man threatening her (he wasn't) because he asked  her to leash the dog.

The incident was videoed and has a worldwide audience. The police did indeed arrive and arrested the woman for abusing the dog. She shouted that she was an international banker, so was immediately sacked by her employer and IIRC faces charges of wasting police time, animal cruelty, and a breach of park by-laws as the dog was unleashed in a nature reserve.  Best news to come out of the USA for months, and a fine example of what the Durham police may yet get round to.

The police came and beat the man to death.

The events of "the black man who died while being arrested in Minneapolis" has got intertwined with the events of "a dog off the leash in New York's Central Park".
- They did happen around the same day
- The black man who was arrested (and died) was seen on security footage sitting down on the sidewalk, minding his own business, before the arrest.
- This sparked the riots in Minneapolis
- The other black man was sitting down, minding his own business in the park, before the woman called the police saying she was being threatened. Fortunately, in this case, the police investigated before trying to arrest anyone (I am sure the video footage on the man's phone would have expedited the investigation!).
- It is the general underlying attitude to Americans of African descent that has sparked widespread riots in the USA

Last year I visited an exhibition on Martin Luther King's 1964 Nobel Peace Prize. It seems that there is still some way to go in the USA (and in other countries) to achieve fair treatment for minorities.

The fact that people were able to post videos of "the arrest" and "the dog in the park" has meant that both events went viral on social media and TV + traditional media.

Video has an immediacy that grabs attention - so much so that it might be hard to obtain an unbiased jury if "the arrest" goes to a courtroom trial (evidently, they are both guilty in the eyes of their previous employers).

This is the power of social media, which does allow widespread dissemination of free speech.
- The question is: should it have limits?
- Donald Trump had a warning put on a tweet that seemed to glorify violence, and on another that made unsubstantiated claims about postal votes, for which he threatened to shut down social media
- However, if social media is being used to organize violent riots (without first getting a permit from town hall), then I think that there is a point where law enforcement should be able to censor those social media streams.

Back in the glory days of  the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament it was quite common for "undercover" police to join in our protest marches. They were immediately identifiable by their uniform non-uniform of clean black anoraks and polished black boots, didn't sing, and rarely walked more than a mile before someone stuck a "COP" label on their backs. Pity, really, because relations with the uniformed fuzz, who (preThatcher) were deployed to control traffic, were generally good.

Sadly, I think Durham UK fuzz are busy appointing investigating panels, drawing lines under things and learning lessons. There are times when a bit more "shoot first then ask questions" might be appreciated, especially where the perpetrator has friends in high places. I think the new York police got the balance right.
