Probably not a good idea while riding in a car (some people can do it, but if you are at all prone to car sicknesses, it will certainly aggravate it).

i didn't know that george. it doesn't bother me. good thing i've never read on a boat... and i love long car rides, but they'll be driving through a whole lot of nothing for a long time. just trees. and after to many trees i can see why he'd be bored

I love reading during long trips, though it used to make me very car sick.  Guess I grew out of it.

or get a psp. the power went out at scott's friend's house tonight when we were there and all 4 of the guys simultaneously pulled out their psps. kinda funny

yes please, and i may borrow a couple of my friends graphic novels (big comics, mangas,ect.) those i canread durring long car rides without getting headaces, other than that i get sick.

DS's are way better than PSP's.

Reading in the car? I do that for all trips over 45 minutes seconds.

that would be very difficult playing with me seeing that i know my cars like the back of my hand
