.A Vortex Aurora over Iceland
Explanation: No, the car was not in danger of being vacuumed into space by the big sky vortex. For one reason, the vortex was really an aurora, and since auroras are created by particles striking the Earth from space, they do not create a vacuum. This rapidly developing auroral display was caused by a Coronal Mass Ejection from the Sun that passed by the Earth closely enough to cause a ripple in Earth's magnetosphere. The upper red parts of the aurora occur over 250 kilometers high with its red glow created by atmospheric atomic oxygen directly energized by incoming particles. The lower green parts of the aurora occur over 100 kilometers high with its green glow created by atmospheric atomic oxygen energized indirectly by collisions with first-energized molecular nitrogen. Below 100 kilometers, there is little atomic oxygen, which is why auroras end abruptly. The concentric cylinders depict a dramatic auroral corona as seen from the side. The featured image was created from a single 3-second exposure taken in mid-March over Lake Myvatn in Iceland.

Is he capable of HD ? 4K ?
Sadly, in the case of Henry, it's just 720i, enough for DVD at least.

So henry in 1982  would have been the latest thing !

I think he already is one. Like his squiddity relatives, he can put on a video of his background for camouflage, put on a scary show for what's considering him for lunch, or maybe a sexy vid to get the ladies (like he needs that... already cute enough to want anybody to cuddle a cuttlefish). Only trick left is to pick up the wifi so he can stream netflix or something.

Exactly, once he's resting, could we hook Henry up to stream Netflix and Prime etc ? ;D

Dearest Cuttlefishologists ,

Take a look at Henry:

Henry just Moments Ago

Henry wants to serve a purpose after he's "quit the earth" and wants to know if he can become a video display ?

With he's multifaceted skin adaptiveness and ability to mimic his surroundings do you think it's possible ?

I don't know.....I'm a sheep not a shark !!

Plant Sciences, Zoology & Evolution / Do Animals That Live In Caves Or The Bottom Of The Sea Follow A 24hr Lifecycle ?
« on: 17/09/2021 14:54:52 »
Dear Klevur peeps,

Some animals live in a cave all their life or others may live at the bottom of the sea never ever seeing sunlight.

Do they still follow a 24 hour cycle ? sleeping ? do they follow seasons ?

Dear Anthropologists,

Well, the kweschun is in the title !

After a few millennia, how do isolated tribes still survive ? Their cousin may also be their brother, aunt uncle nephew niece sister type thing eh  ?

Surely they'd all be eating grass and playing banjos by now !!

« on: 09/09/2021 19:07:42 »
Hi Icipeoples,

Say ewe had a box and ewe filled it with water then froze it then shaved off the surplus that had expanded then sealed the box so that every single side of the ice was airtight sealed and in contact with the sides of the box and then ewe seal the box and vacuumise it too !!

Would the ice melt ? Because water takes up less volume than Ice,......... if it were impossible for the volume to be reduced would this keep the ice frozen ? .........or would it just be fat water ?

What Do Ewe Think ?

If you look close at the picture, they're actually mirror images and their handwriting is different because one is forced to write with their non-preferred hand.

They are different people.

That is very interesting. I understand they are different people just thought they might have similar/identical calligraphal  (new word I just made up).techniques.

Hmmm....what about clones then ?

were there any studies done on Dolly the sheep to see if Dolly had identical behavioral traits like her originator ?

Is Earthy losing water ? Does any of the water in the atmosphere leak into spacey-wacey ?
It does. It's expected to all be gone in about a billion years, so drink up while it's there.

Water jettisoned from ships in space mostly tends not to immediately find its way to Earth for the same reason the thing squirting it out tends not to immediately find its way to Earth. Getting something out of anything but the lowest orbits takes effort.

A billion years !.... goes to panic shop water !!!

So, how much water do we lose a day ? do ewe know ?

Thanks Halcy

Thanks Halcy,

I must be having a "moment" because I thought we had a Philosophy thread to post in.(I couldn't find it !!)........ If we do, please amend accordingly.

I guess my definition of free will is my making choices based on my own way of making them. Completely independent of any subconscious , back-of-house programming that I do not have control of.

I DO have a wifey, bye bye free will !!

Dear Will-ologists,

This morning 3am, I was listening to Talk Heathen podcast and the topic of free-will  and determinism came up.

I can't decide, I'd like to think that Free-Will does exist else what's the point ?

I asked wifey about Free-Will and she just said it was a good film !!! I did not pursue it !!

Dear Earthologists,

As a sheepy I of course know all about earth, I know doggies like to roll around in it and that it's also where grass grows.  I mean, what else is there to know ? That covers it.

Here is The Earth, to scale 1-1.

The Earth true to scale 1-1 cos I said so.

Is Earthy losing water ? Does any of the water in the atmosphere leak into spacey-wacey ?

If so, how much and does it get replenished whenever the ISS people flush the loo ?

Dearest People With Degrees In Twinology,

Take a look at these identical twins,  they are identical in every single physical way as ewe can see.

Twins being identical in every conceivably physical way just moments ago.

Anyone here a twin ? triplet ? more so etc ?

Do Identical Twins Have the Same Handwriting ?

As a firm believer in empirical study I stood in front of a mirror and wrote some stuff. It was exactly the same but the other way around......so, it must be true eh ?
