A most interesting discussion about lab grown meat.

There has long been controversy about the appropriateness of raising animals for food, as well as hunting species to the verge of extinction. Star Trek suggests that food synthesizers in the future will be able to make synthetic steaks.
Perhaps synthetic meat will be possible in the not too distant future, although I have no doubt that it will bring with it its share of controversy.
