When atmospheric gases gain energy and become more heated they expand and effectively become less dense  that allows them to ascend .

My question is does the emission frequency of the molecules change and/or vibrations ?

In a world where education is important it is important to be precise in defining definitions precisely as to not confuse the reader .

In a recent thread a debate occurred over what is space-time versus what is space ?

Firstly I suggest we consider ''a continuous area or expanse which is free, available, or unoccupied.
"a table took up much of the space" which is physically described incorrectly . Space is occupied by matter !

How do we describe space in this instant that is more precise ?

Mark wants to know:

Since the Universe is expanding and light stretches across it as it does so becoming more red, what happens to the lost energy when the shorter wavelength, higher energy light towards the blue end of the spectrum is shifted into lower energy red wavelengths?

Do you know the answer?

There is no lost energy t   high frequency photon energy divided by volume over time at c . 450nm has the same energy has 750nm but it is divided by a greater volume. In linear terms = in regards to the energy amount .

What extra energy ?

The Sun for example radiates the surrounding space with photon energy , the energy is dispersed equally and  proportionally into the surrounding space . The photons will divide their energy in accordance with the inverse square  law , the more space to divide in , the weaker the photon energy becomes by divide .
There isn't any extra energy I know of , can you please explain more of what you mean by extra energy ?

Where do you get the impression from that Photons do not have mass ? The Sun is a huge ''ball'' of photons and the Sun has mass . If you add photons to a block a metal , the block gains mass .
Perhaps you need to learn physics before you make such statements ?
