I was thinking a bit, and decided to compare two climate charts.

North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) with Sulfur Dioxide (Greenland Proxy).





I inverted the NAO chart, and then merged it with the Sulfur chart.  I had to shift the NAO chart by about +5 years which is puzzling, but I'm assuming it is due to inaccuracies with the Greenland proxy measurements, and perhaps averaging.

However, the results were STUNNING.

Sorry for the crude hack-job on the charts.  Perhaps I'll try to clean them up in the future.

This indicates there is likely an association between high sulfur dioxide levels, and low Atlantic temperatures, and visa-versa.  I suppose it should not be very surprising.
