In the US the confusion is done away with as the cheque number is not put with the rest of the banking info on the bottom of a ewe - er, cheque - but is located in the upper right hand corner for easier handling by the customer. It is also repeated on the bottom line as well, but we do things much more sanely here in the US.
Neil make these a tad more difficult. I had to type all of this in without thinking too much. I need a decent challenge.
BTW, should the middle number be the check - no, cheque! number, everyone is screwed with the hint given.

In general this is correct - BUT these county boundaries were all set by 1900 so it reflects population density at that time, not at present.

I recognise the theme but I don't know why the third one is blank (although I appreciate why the third one is special). Might the ninth word have been Disney, if it hadn't recently been demoted? Am I sort of on the right track? I'm going to look the others up on Wiki because I can only match up three of the words at the moment.

OK, here is the answer..I stumped ewe all but congrats to JC for getting almost there.
Each one of those words are the meanings behind the mythological God names of the planets............... MERCURY-God of Invention, VENUS- God of Love etc etc...the reason why the third one is blank is because EARTH is not named after a mythological God....see ?

If you look at every other letter then colpoesne!d actually contains two words. The odd numbered letters (1, 3, 5, etc) spell 'closed' and the evens spell 'open!'. If that were written on a zig-zagged surface then you would see the word 'open' when looking from one direction and 'closed' when looking from the other. That polynomial only has a fairly simple set of solutions - the values of x that give an answer of zero.
And they are the numbers of the parking spaces (well, most of them- I forgot one, and I can't be bothered to redo the maths)
For example, if you calculate that polynomial for x=88 you will get zero. (Unless I screwed up somewhere)

Actually I don't drink wine at all, I find it headache inducing. These days I only drink beer but in my misspent youth I would have drunk any alcoholic beverage, excluding meths and ipa( which I am told can be consumed but obviously not a good idea ). I believe the sheep's answer is 11.
