Title: How about an Education And Courses section?
Post by: DoctorBeaver on 26/04/2008 07:46:15
Someone was asking about online education and it got me thinking that maybe we could have a section where we can post comments about our own experiences of courses (online or otherwise) and recommend, or not, the providers.

Sandra and I had to dig long and deep to find an EFL course that...

a) she didn't need a degree or teaching experience to take
b) that was accepted as a valid qualification

I'm sure some of us here have taken courses in various subjects; or would like to but don't know who to take the course with. Do a search for a course on any subject and there are hundreds to choose from. It can be very daunting and gives no idea how good or bad that particular course is.

There are many highly educated people here who are only too willing to share their knowledge and experience. So how aout them telling us about their actual education experiences and the institutions they attended or courses they have taken?

Simulated is trying to learn HTML. There must be some of us who have used online tutorials (I know I have). Were they any good?

In time we could probably build a very useful resource for people to consult.

I don't have personal experience of Rosetta Stone but I've heard some good reports.
