wheres my signature?!?!?!?!?!? [:(!]grrrrrr [???]
-
Unfortunatly, mine isn't working either. But be patient Tony6789, Neil will get to it when he is not providing greater insight on other topics. Patience is a virtue.
-
UH OH!!! We will see what is up!
-
What is it that you think is wrong with your signatures?
Not that it has anything to do with Neil - the only person who has control over that side of things is Dave Shorts.
Dave was trying to limit the size of signatures, so that we could see more of what mattered - the body of the message, rather than the signature. That has been working for some time.
What is the problem you perceive right now?
-
I thought Tony had a rather small sig, am I mistaken. I do not remember it having a large picture like my tweety bird!I shrank him then I removed him all together in hopes of finding somethin more simple and elegant but still sparkly. Thanks George!

That is what I am asking - I am not sure what Tony thinks he is seeing as a problem (I know you used to have a large signature, and Hadrian's jumping sheep is also oversized - although some of the larger signatures I also blocked - for the same reason - I wanted to read the messages not the sigs).
-
Yeah I did not know how to shrink him and when I played with it I shrank him, but inadvertantly cut his legs off! Poor tweety! LOL I just like the sparkle, wish I could write my name in sparkles That would be way cool!! In a very nice cursive!!
-
i had my sig as "Never! underestimate youth...cause ur wits cant match mine
-
My sig is "Life is like a video game, always trying to win." To bad Death will always beat your high score! ;)

Maybe not sparkle - but the best I could do at present.

Ben,
Yes, I can see that your signature is missing (Tony's does not appear to be so to me) - it looks like a problem for Dave to sort out.
Actually, even your signature appears there on your earlier message, but not your later one.

Those are perfect! Now which color.. darker gold Lighter gold or red? The two reds look the same.. am I wrong? What about hunter green LOL! otherwise red gets my vote.. I like red too! So George can you make magic and give it to me so I can use it in my sig! HUH HUH HUH???? That is what I had in mind... Maybe we can figure how to glitter it later! LOL
-
Glitter (I assume you are talking about bits of the image sparkling) will require multi-frame GIF images - I am not sure if I have any software to do that with - may have to look around and see if I can find something.
The two reds - I removed one - I used an unsharp mask on the second red image (which I left in place - removed the one without).
To download the image, just move the cursor over the image, right click, and select 'save image' or something similar.

Hi tony
Sorry I have been at my parents for easter and a wedding. In your look and layout settings view signatures was turned off. I have turned it on now.

Dave
Does that switch apply on a message by message basis, rather than globally?
Did the signature not used to be universal (what was true of future messages was equally retrospectively applied to past messages) - yet looking at this topic, signatures seem to be there for some messages but not for others?

hahahahaha thx guys u rock!

There is a horrible hack I introduced ages ago, which disables the signature if it is found verbatum in the text. This is because the old forum software added the signature to the posted text, where as the new software generates it when it displays the page. This would have produced two copies of the signature so I disabled the display of the signature if it was found in the text, a hack, but it mostly works.
This could be the problem with Ben's sig.

This is it.

LOL - that makes a lot of sense.
If you look back at Karen's post, her signature is presently just her name, but wherever her name appears within her own posts (e.g. when she is quoting somebody who is quoting her, so she ends up quoting herself), her signature disappears.
This is not a problem on my posts because my signature, although it is my name, includes some BBC within the text.
-
That's odd thanks George I will try one of those names!
