Apparently one can isolate myocardial stem cells from tissue biopsies which then can be multiplied, and injected into damaged cardiac tissue. The study has shown that there is a decrease in scar tissue.

The improvement in cardiac tissue sounds pretty extraordinary. However, it should be noted that there were more complications in the treated group than the control group.
Further studies will be required to establish safety and efficacy of the procedure, but the preliminary study sounds quite promising.
