There's a TB treatment that,as a side effect, bump starts the immune system
It was one of the earliest treatments for cancer (it's not great, but it's better than nothing, and it's still in use).

But in some parts of the world, the BCG is used as a vaccine against leprosy rather than TB (the bacteria causing the diseases are very similar).
So the possibility of treating covid infections by using BCG is nothing to do with teh coincidental similarity between covid and TB.
