It seemed to be working until I selected 'Hide Record Button', after which I couldn't find any way to start it.

There's nowhere for it to say that because the app won't start in the first place, if you click on the desktop icon or select it from the start menu nothing happens. The desktop icon didn't do anything before I hid the record button either, the only way to get anything to happen was using the rather intrusive record button protruding from the RHS of the screen.

I use Movavi Screen Recorder, everything is very simple and convenient.
