How do you change your primary e-mail address on Facebook?
« on: 08/04/2021 16:11:59 »
How can one edit the primary email in facebook, in firefox? I tried but the edit option only allows for adding another email. My primary email may have been hacked.

I  would like to know how to change it.

Hi EO!
🙋

" It sounds like some of you are having trouble updating your primary email address. First, you'll want to go to your General Account Settings. If the email address you want to use isn't currently listed there, you'll need to click "Add another email" to add it before you can choose it as your primary email address. "

To do this,
Click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop-down list.
highlight an entry in the drop-down list.
Press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to remove it.

Facebook is a great app and website to be in contact with each other. However, there is one issue that many face regarding their profile. People like to change or shift their primary email on Facebook for various reasons. But whatever they are, I do not want to intersect with your personal issues.
In your internet browser, navigate and log into Facebook using your current email address and password. Once logged in, click the downward facing arrow in the upper right-hand corner of your screen to reveal a drop-down list of options. Towards the bottom of the list, click on "Settings."
Under your general account settings, you'll see a section for contact information, in which your primary email address is listed. Click on "edit" next to your email address to be taken to a screen which gives you the option to add an additional email address or phone number. Click on that button to launch a pop-up in which you can input your new email address.
After inputting your new email address and hitting the enter key on your keyboard, you'll be asked to re-enter your current Facebook password to confirm the changes. Once you've completed this security step, Facebook will send you a verification email containing a link that you must click on to prove that it is a valid email address that you own.
Once you click on the confirmation email validating your new address, Facebook will automatically set your newly entered email address as your primary contact. This can be changed anytime by following the above steps again to enter a new address, or by selecting your old one as your primary form of contact.
However, you need to consider these points by logging into Facebook through your laptop or computer. While doing the same from a smartphone, only a few steps will change.
