Why patients with weak immunity exhibit conditions of over-reaction?
« on: 26/03/2020 21:02:24 »
Hello!

In many infectious diseases like sepsis, pneumonia etc, the most damage is caused by the reaction of the immune system rather than the infectious factor.

Then why elderly people whose immune system is supposedly weak are prone to such disorders?

Also, we should expect that autoimmune disorders and allergies are lessened in elderly people as their immune system becomes weaker, is that true?
