Does anyone know of a way to change your fingerprints? (https://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fbestsmileys.com%2Fanxious%2F3.gif&hash=54ae68a84818eea7ffc26314ae6a3cf4)

I would say... Get a knife and cut some bits of skin off the finger, and make new engravings on there!! [;D]
But then when your finger heals, it will come out with the same fingerprint again!

Doc, why do you want to change your fingerprints? There are ways, but do they surve the purpose you are after?
Suppose you were a criminal and your prints 'were on file' would seanys idea help you out? give you some freedom to commit crime without being caught? In the short term, i suppose it would, but you now still have distinctive one of a kind prints.

Mostly we cannot change our fingerprints, though many people have tried to alter them in some way..
I read a story recently of a bloke who sliced his finger tips up so his prints were altered.. but that is somewhat extreme (not to mention painful)
Bricklayers tend to have 'smoother' fingerprints on their thumb and two first fingers.
But if you want to change your fingerprints to avoid detection, you'd also have to change your palm print since police take this as a record also.
