Title: What Kind of Rock is this?

Found this rock in the backyard, just curious to what kind it is.

looks at first glance like quartz. But it could be plagioclase feldspar. The only real crystal surfaces I can see are in the upper left part and it looks like quartz.

I agree, photo looks like quartz.  Can you give us any more information?  Can you scratch it with a knife? Where it's broken, is the break an irregular surface, or a flat surface?  Is the pink/red color just along fractures?

It will not scratch with a knife, and I pressed down pretty hard. It has an irregular surface on one side and almost flat on the other.

Actually, Karen, I think the color needs to be adjusted on your computer. It is probably rose quartz and probably from a pegmatite.
