See that purdy cat and little doggy up there?? Well of course your do unless your Dan at work and can't see pictures from photobucket, but anywho!

My sister got mad at me one day and decided it would be funny to glue stuff in my room to things. She gluded my keyboard to the floor, them things up there to the peice of wood, the trashcan to the floor. Loads of things.

Now how do you get them off of there without damaging the wood or them???

You know that would all depend on the type of glue!

Its an older looking dresser so it will be difficult to remove them without some kind of damage!

Find out about the glue.. Water will damage the wood.

Um its a shelve that we just put up less then 2 years ago.

And I think it was just elmers glue

I think soaking it in water is the best way to soften the glue and that will probably damage the wood.
You could email the manufacturer and ask if they have any ideas.

Elmers glue really sticks to wood almost as good as wood glue. If you simply try to lift it it will probably lift the wood. I don't know if using a butter knife with a little bit of vegetable oil or lemon oil might loosen it, but I can't guarantee it would work. oil base would be better then water.. mineral oil might help..

Thanks guys. I'll try some of it. I'm fine if there is still glue on the wood, but if i get them unstuck, how about getting the glue off of the ornament thing

Try to find out the main properties of this Elmers Glue and then see if you
can find out how to use the opposite, least-damaging products for your wooden dresser, then first try to grease or similar around the outside of your ornaments then further to them.

If she glued them on top of the dust they may come up easier.. if it was dusted off at the time of gluing then they will be more difficult to remove!

I think most of the solvents will damage the shelf, but if it's not an expensive shelf it might be worth the replacement.. depends on what is more precious to you the shelf or the figurines... other than that in the event of an earthquake, your figurines should be safe.

I wish my sister was that creative in pranking when we were growing up. :)
