Title: Do You or a family member Sleep walk?
Post by: Karen W. on 01/10/2006 05:18:19
I raised a young boy, Nathan My youngest who was a really bad sleep walker! How did you handle episodes of sleep walking in your home? Did you wake your sleeper? Did you gently guide yours back to bed, Or did you simply grill them until You knew everthing about what their subconscious mind was thinking! LOL....

haha.  My brother was a sleepwalker.  My parents gently guided him back to bed.  When they werent laughing.  One night when we were staying at grandparents, he got out of bed and looked like he was awake.  He went to the kitchen, opened the fridge and proceeded to pee all in it.  We were all so shocked all we could do was laugh hysterically.

Gosh Carolyn My son Did much the same..[:)] I heard him rise and figured he to be sleep walking, but I was so tired I didnot get up, I looked up hall from bed, and he headed toward the livingroom, I could see the glowing fire in the woodstove, but then I noticed my daughter curled up on floor with her blanket by the stove as it was about 20 degrees that night.. very cold. Then I realized heprobably thought he was in the bathroom but by the time I woke enough to think I heard this horrible scream... My daughter sleeping was no longer asleep and her arms were up in the air moving franticly back and forth She was tring to redirect the stream of pee that was hitting her square in the face!! All I could see was the splashing and it spreading evry where. she started hitting him as hard as she could screaming Nathan stop!!! Wake up No!!!! MOM!!! Help!!!He was about 10 years old and impossible to wake !! It was Hilarious, gross but Halarious,, poor kid would not wake up, and when he was finnished he just stood there eyes open and staring straight ahead. By the time I was there he had finnished and she was gagging.. she went to the bathroom and I got the stem cleaner out stripped my son got him back to bed and steamed the carpet and cleaned and bleaced everything effected... I never did get him to wake up!! She was Horrified.....HEE HEE HEE HEE!![:D][:D]

Hey Michael so nice to see ya.. Thats really funny.. I bet you were surprised .. Did you ever wonder why your subconscious mind took you there??
Pretty funny really.[:)] Were you easily awakened from your state or were you very hard to wake or guide back to bed!! I talk in my sleep instead of walking... figures I am a bit of a Jaberjaws as you know.. alot of us are![:D] Nice to see you back I hope all has slowed down for you for awhile..[:)] Hows your daughter doing? Well I hope! Are you going to post some pics from your trip????  It would be cool for all of us non travelers! [:D][:D]

My parents didnt know i sleep walked. A couple of times my dad woke up and found me sitting in the living room watching the television but he would shout at me for waking him up which would then wake me up and after a few seconds of confusion i would realize what happened and make an excuse that i couldnt sleep or something.Thankfully i always dressed my self while i was sleeping.

It scared me after a while so i use to tie my arm to the bed with a couple of tight knots which worked as i couldnt undo them while i was sleep walking and on a few occasions i woke up while i was trying to undo it.

I will post some pics but i've been so busy recently with all studying as i try to get to grips with my new job that i havent had time to edit my holiday film much to the dismay of my family [:)], but once i do i will post a few.

Hey Michael what is your new Job.. What do you do? Do you mind me asking?

Thats pretty good thinking to tie your self to the bed, I,m glad you did not have a fire! scarey thought! My little sister did to as did my youngest boy!! I know he doesn't anymore.. I guess from your state I assume used to means you don't anymore... I understand that some adults still do... makes me wonder what causes it and why some people leave it behind in childhood and others do not!
