Greetings,
Can anyone tell me what this is and what it is/was used for ?
I can tell you that it is at least 36 years old, is about the size of a matchbox and as you can see has a screw mechanism......I am sure it is NOT an ancient torture instrument and wonder if ' photography ' comes into it at all ? The last time it would have been used would have been the late 1960s early 1970's !

Aw, I was going to say an old torturing devise [:D]
I have no idea as to what it would be used for. But I would say that it's not for anything heavy duty as the screw head is flat and round, wouldn't make life easy if it were to secure something heavy.
But that's just me, simple be I [;D]

It looks like the little clamps they used to use on aquarium air lines to adjust air flow or something like that!

It looks like the little clamps they used to use on aquarium air lines to adjust air flow or something like that!
Now THAT is also interesting because we did have aquariums !!!

I have some of these somewhere and It really looks like aquarium airline clamp!

usually two airlines run through the two square openings and then you tighten the screw and it pulls the middle bar closed against the airline to adjust the flow..

hee hee !!...if ewe owned an ice cream factory then I would repectfully request you marry my 5 year old daughter ! (erhmm...when she's older of course !!..DOH !!).....as chocolate ice cream is beyond measure her most favourite thing in the whole world !!

I have boxes full of aquarium junk.. But if I find one in here in the house I will take a picture I fear it is most likely stuck in a barn! That is exactly the right size I am pretty sure that is aquarium hose clamp!

You know what, the clamp might not had a specific use, as I can see, you could pretty much use it for a few things. You could use it for very small flowers for pressing, or you could use it for making models out of wood which need to be pressed so the glue can fix properly.
But because it is so small it's task would be small........that's the way I see it [:-\]

Yepperoo I believe it is air line clamp from way back! My mom was an aquarium freak! LOL She loved them our house was full of tanks .. I have stories I could tell!.............LOL

See I told you I need to get rid of junk! Boxes full of junk.. tons of aquarium junk deep sea divers plastic plants Turtle bowles, fake castles rocks pipes tubing pumps etc..
