Title: Finger drumming good!
Post by: dentstudent on 05/07/2007 12:28:45
Firstly, do you know what I mean by finger drumming? It's what you do when you're waiting for the bathroom, for example, and you drum your fingers on the door, wall, the head of the person in the bathroom - whatever, quickly.

Unless you've been trained otherwise through guitar or piano playing, the natural tendency appears to be that you start drumming from the outside in, ie, with your little finger first, on both hands. Why is this much easier than doing it index finger out? What is the physiological advantage of doing it outside in?

I think it may be because we use our index & middle fingers more than the other 2 & so have more control over them.
