Title: What is neuroconsolidation?
Post by: smart on 14/02/2018 19:42:57
Is there such thing as "neuroconsolidation"?

How exactly does the hippocampus may selectively consolidate synaptic energy into neuroholographic memories?

Wikipedia believes that there is a thing called "Memory Consolidation", where memories are reactivated and strengthened, during sleep or by recall. This would certainly affect the hippocampus.

See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memory_consolidation

It does not mention "neuroconsolidation", which would imply mashing your neurons together, something which I think would not help your memory at all.

The rest of the question is just a colorful tossed salad of sciency-sounding words.

Not really, no.
It's just a word you made up.

What exactly do you not understand in the neuroconsolidation of synaptic energy (?)
If there's such thing as neuroholographic memory, then why not assume the possibility of hippocampal neurons to consolidate cognitive informations into long-term memory (?)

If there's such thing as neuroholographic memory,
Spoiler alert; there isn't.

then why not assume the possibility of hippocampal neurons to consolidate cognitive informations into long-term memory
Because it's a non sequiteur.

I don't understand why you think there's anything special about the energy of synapses. They don't really have any energy- they are just gaps.
So you are asking what we don't understand in the [made up word] of [a thing that doesn't exist].

Do you see how that's a problem?
