The only animals that find tuna sandwiches objectionable, are tuna.
It’s incredibly nutritious and a great source of protein, omega-3 fatty acids and B vitamins. However, it can contain high levels of mercury, a toxic heavy metal.
Apparently it is an essential component of tuna metabolism.
Surely the fish in 'tuna fish' is redundant? We don't need to distinguish it from say a tuna mammal or tuna bird after all.
That's an enormous sandwich, then. Which may account for its appearance on American menus (along with 32-ounce steaks) but not European.
