« on: 08/06/2007 10:42:01 »

i know that you shouldn't reuse the water bottles. they grow bacteria in them. but i'm not sure if water itself goes bad

It depends on the water, tap water is chlorinated which means that it will inhibit the growth of bacteria for at least a couple of days. I don't know about bottled water, but if you filter water you remove the chlorine compounds that are acting as preservatives and it could go off overnight so you should keep it refrigerated.

As a rule I am into food storage and water storage through my church and we use bleach bottles that have the last dribbles of chlorine in them not scented ones..LOL and we then fill the bottles and store them for 1 year! It is important to rotate them and use them during that year! Making sure to replace them as you do and mark the dates as such.. You want to make sure they are safe.

it only has a drop or two to the gallon and is taken from an emergency preparedness guide. we have used it for years and have always drank it just fine. .Just watch your dates.. I literally mean a drop or two not tablespoos or anything. They put it in our own water. you don't want it if it is scented or otherwise enhanced!

I like to read your blog. It is well written and easy to use. Unlike other blogs that I have read, it is not very good and I find your post very interesting. Actually, after reading it, I have to recommend it to my friends. He agrees with this article.
