When it comes to hydro then?

Sure, but we already built out what we can from it, and while doing it destroying other natural habitats, streams, fish, even going as far as stealing water from each other, in form of damming etc. Putting nations against nations.

So how does reality look?

Around 80% fossil fuels, or over, depending on source, and if you then take away bio fuels, blue hydrogen nuclear etc you're left with hydro, wind and solar panels. Each one with their own problems, you can't build out any more hydro, solar panels and wind means plastics, rare earths as well the question of where to localize them. And by themselves they won't cover our energy needs, especially as we will need more power plants, more electrical grids and even more storage solutions for them, batteries etc, all of it without recycling.

Geothermal heat pumps, using boreholes. It's a possibility depending on the geology, and how much energy you need, at home or for a industry.  And then we have wave energy etc from oceans.

That's also part of why I state that our infrastructures, as f.ex transportation, must change if we're going to have a chance, and that you can't keep on doing what you're doing today, ignoring it. Where I consider the fuel for what's left of less importance
