Could there be a laser guided robotic tattoo machine developed in the future? 8D

I haven't had a tattoo so I'm not quite sure what's involved, but I don't see why one couldn't build a permanent tattoo printer, somewhat like a dot matrix printer, but with needles. I'm not sure why one would need lasers (distance?), but there would have to be complex visual and tactile feedback in the system.
There are already temporary tattoo printers.
The best tattoos, of course, involve artwork, and on some people, the melding of old and new tattoos.
