Research indicates that cannabinoids are promoters of adult hippocampal neurogenesis: THC may enhance adult hippocampal neurogenesis through intracellular CB1 receptor activation.

If you smoke cannabis it can increase the number of cells in your head , but not in a good way ...

Thats a relatively low risk to develop cancer from marijuana smoking. I presume tobacco smoking has much higher incidence than cannabis to induce cancer.

Endocannabinoids are neurogenic; They stimulate hippocampal neurogenesis through intracellular lipid rafts.
