What is science? It's very simple question and answer but I have another definition about science.

Science = facts/data
Religion = belief/faith
Both have their merits and they don't need to be mutually exclusive

Science is a process for the systematic gathering and testing of knowledge about how the universe works. It is about how we know, not about what we know.

Or in other words, science is defined by a process called the Scientific Method. It is this Method that differentiates science from pseudo-science.

Religion has played an important role in providing social and cultural cohesiveness and continuity. Just as science has managed to produce undesirable consequences, so too has religion.

The original links in the post appeared to send a person off to some religious website.
They appeared to be more SPAM than supplementing a discussion, and were removed by a TNS administrator.
Since the OP failed to discuss his hypothesis, I chose not to pursue the links, and apparently he hasn't returned to clarify his intentions.

Well, for a lot of people, religion is a source of comfort, hope, solace, ....
Don't get me wrong, I'm pretty atheistic myself, but I'm not blind to see what religion can do for other people. Of course there are negative aspects to religion, but so are there to science, as Ophiolite already pointed out.

Science is the attempt to describe the physical world by observation, measurement, and the construction of consistent models which both agree with those observations and make predictions which can be verified by future observations.

Don't get me wrong, I'm pretty atheistic myself, but I'm not blind to see what religion can do for other people. Of course there are negative aspects to religion, but so are there to science, as Ophiolite already pointed out.
But the things in religion which bring comfort, such as companionship or a specific goal in life, can just as easily be found without the actual belief in god and without having to organise the way society works around this, whereas we would all still be in caves without science.

Be careful not to confuse it with the definition of physics. Somebody made this mistake before. This is a general of science in all its generality.
