Title: Can you help me with my Nintendo Cube, I need help?
Post by: Karen W. on 24/08/2008 05:51:20
I have never played this but wanted something different to do.. when I can't sleep!.. LOL

I got deal... 10.00 bucks for the game system 3 controllers and 4 games.. It works great except I don't know how to use it! LOL..

Anyway the controllers are wireless and have the need for two double AA batteries. I put them in,  turned the game on, and up pops Zelda! Sounds and beautiful pictures, but I turn on the controller and it lights up I wait for intro to finish and then the screen says press play to begin.. OK I press play.. nothing happens.. The game does not start! I fear I may be missing a cord.. There is a second Jack in the back of the box that says Digital AV outlet.. the plug  I have fits the analog AV outlet..There is nothing in the Digital outlet.. nor a cord to go with it. Does there need to be a digital cord also for the remotes to work?

The girls are still here who sold it to me so I can go back to the yard sale tomorrow if I need to.. Help!

If you have experience with this old game machine could you offer me some advice.. It seems to work fine.. except the controllers.. I have three they all are in excellent shape the whole unit seems to look new..

Any clues as to what I am doing wrong????

I've never used a Gamecube but it appears that the wireless controllers require a receiver unit to be attached to the console...

Break free of the wires! Plug in the receiver and experience the Wavebird--with the same control features of the regular controller,
but with wireless game play up to 30 feet. The wireless controller comes complete with wireless receiver.

BTW $10 is a steal, if it is fully functional. A wireless gamecube controller alone is $50 (new), wired ones $25 (new).

There is of course a wikipedia page... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_GameCube

Thanks RD... I have three of the gray wireless controllers and four of the most popular games and 1 very well working game cube and I will go back today to try to see if she had the receiver for the wireless controls...

Maybe thats why  pushing play does not work... The picture just keeps repeating itself!

This video shows the grey wireless controller and the receiver which plugs in to the console...

The receiver is in his right hand, (it looks a bit like an asthma inhaler).

She went inside and came out with a little gray receiver for each controller! Three in all!.. LOL Then I seen she had another game so I bought it too for 20.00 it is a fully working in great shape

I reckon ewe've got a bargain there.

As a firm believer in empirical union , I took my daughters Nintendo Wii dropped it into a bucket of water and whacked it in the freezer.

I fail to understand her dismay when I showed her, her own Nintendo GameCube thus morning. You'd think she'd be grateful.

To further try and develop her joy, I will await till 4am tomorrow morning and empty the icy joy onto her whilst she peacefully sleeps. This I am sure will bring her smiles and giggles and gratitude.
