WITHOUT A LIVER YOU ARE GOOD AS DEAD.

AFTER INVESTIGATING FOR 1 DAY THE FDA SAID TAMIFLU DID NOT CAUSE THE DEATHS.
THEY INVESTIGATED FOR 1 DAY.

12 deaths occurred in people who had taken Tamiflu. 3 of them, apparently, had a history of chest problems. 2 of the others jumped in front of a bus - maybe they'd been listening to Judas Priest records too!
There have been 32 reported cases of people developing psychiatric problems after taking Tamiflu.
Now consider this. To the best of my knowledge, Japan has 1 of the highest incidences of psychiatric problems in the world. Pressures from school and work have been blamed for most of that.
11.6 million people in Japan recieved Tamiflu in the years 2001-2005 and 24 million in total. So, the figures read - 12 deaths (2 of which are very unlikely to have been caused by Tamiflu) and 30 other possible instances (at least 3 of whom had pre-existing chest problems). But let's be generous to your cause and say that they were all, indeed, caused by Tamiflu. That's 42 cases of side-effects in total out of a total of 24 million people - 1:571,428. How many would have died from flu had they not been given Tamiflu? Quite possibly many more than that.

Also...

quote:
Complicating the issue is that many of the Japanese death and adverse reaction reports list symptoms commonly associated with the flu, Dr. Murray Lumpkin, deputy commissioner of the FDA, said prior to the meeting.

You must remember that taking Tamiflu is no guarantee that you won't get flu - it just reduces the risk. If someone dies of flu-like symptoms after having been given Tamiflu you would need a post mortem examination to establish the precise cause.
