CC, I will be at a fertility clinic day after tomorrow (Tuesday).
Hurray, I'm choosing BEFORE+AFTER based on your post, and also daveman's at SMF.Thank you!!
CP, forgive me if I'm wrong, but I thought that YOU wrote 1% in wikipedia for our POIS entry? (apart from Dr Dexter's headache study).

You are making personal sacrifices to advance our knowledge of POIS and potentially find a cure, I'm looking forward to hearing how the treatment goes - hopefully successfully []
I think the question of POIS population is extremely difficult to answer. Prof. dr. Waldinger isn't sure, either. The problem is, how do we define POIS? Is "one-day POIS" not strong enough?According to sexual-relationship author-researcher Marnia Robinson, "after-orgasm negativity" affects almost everyone!Considering multiple day severe symptoms, I think 1% is a safe reasonable starting point. It is also what we used for wikipedia. Prof. dr. Waldinger did not dispute the 1% when I conveyed that opinion to him. That translates to approximately 35 million (35,000,000) men worldwide potentially affected by POIS. How did I arrive at 1%? Subjectively, by reasoning that 100% may be an unreasonable but not an impossible definition for those who are "adversely affected by orgasm", and - in contrast to the "not impossible" 100% - my consideration of "rare" is 1 out of 100, when, once again, it is compared to 100/100 which is possible as defining some negative reaction to orgasm, according to Robinson's model.Keep in mind, that it often takes years for a sufferer to connect symptoms to sex. And then IF and when a POIS sufferer decides to tell a doctor, he will probably be ignored and so he continues to suffer in silence, for the rest of his life.Very few, in my opinion, will search the internet to find us.Internet Users' Latest Data: 1,966,514,816 28.7% of World PopulationWorld Population: 6,845,609,960http://www.internetworldstats.com/stats.htm"Internet Users" are not defined well by anyone, but I would imagine the term also includes those persons who only use email and do not surf the Web. Or have used the internet once in the last 30 days. Or those who access the internet only at work, or at cafes and other public internet sites and others who do not have the inclination, knowledge, or leisure to "search for POIS".

Do you really think there are more 65 000 Pois in the world ? Maybe I 'm wrong but I don't think so.
The 1 in 100 figure is from a reference on post coital headaches. It is possible that POIS is a subset of this category. Who knows if that figure is even accurate for post coital headaches? We can only make very rough estimates of the prevalence. Perhaps many of these 'myths' surrounding orgasm, semen loss, and masturbation, started from legitimate cases of POIS which were not explained rationally and were later ridiculed. So it could be a lot more prevalent than we might at first think.

Or BYOS (bring your own sample in a sterile container). If the latter, it MUST be submitted to the fertility clinic within 45 minutes!!(Or else they make you do it over??) [] [] []

I don't believe it for a second, that would make POIS by definition, not rare.
