Title: Did you ever see a mushroom like this?
Post by: Hadrian on 05/03/2006 23:37:58: It actually growing out of a branch but I never seen anything like it before.

It does look unusual though doesn't it ?...In all seriousness, I don't think I've seen anything like it too !......though fungi does grow on trees...we've all seen that at the base of a tree, but in this case the 'mushroom/toadstool/fungi ?' is clearly parasitic...

Your mushroom looks like Porcelain Fungus (Oudemansiella mucida):-

Porcelain fungus is very glossy (slimy) hence the name.
