Ever heard of 'upper case'? In the old days, when we used pen and paper, these were known as 'capitals'.

"I had......... I had......... Graves.......... I was....... tried (and so you should be, tried and found guilty for posting spam)......... I had too..... my body. (full stop. New sentance)........ Now....... has been taken....... I'm......"

Thanks for the English writing lessen many people write on small hand held computers and it is not as easy as writing on proper keyboards.
I was hoping for some comments about living without a Thyroid gland.

I am assuming that your doctor:
- has prescribed thyroid hormone replacement therapy? (And you are taking it regularly?)
- is regularly monitoring your thyroid hormone levels, and adjusting your dosage appropriately?

Gaining weight sounds like your thyroid hormone levels may be a bit low?
See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypothyroidism
...then see your doctor!

Certain foods contain chemicals that can interfere with thyroid hormones, so you need to watch the effect of these on your supplemental thyroid hormones, because you can’t make more hormones to compensate.
The compounds in vegetables are often deactivated by heating so people with thyroid problems are often advised not to eat broccoli, cabbage or other cruciferous vegetables raw.
Soy can also have an effect, but effect is lessened if the soy is fermented eg in products such as miso and tempeh.
Drugs are always being improved so it’s worth discussing with GP and checking the drug info leaflet as I believe some drugs can cope with raw cruciferous veg.

Hi, I have same issue, except, I had hashimotos disease, which ended up with multiple thyroid goiter that had become enlarged, and they biopsied it and found it to be developing cancer .. it was removed 5 days later saving the para-thyroid. Anyway I struggle with weight still, even though I am taking 225 mg of levothyroxine. I am still tired all the time, with low energy. It is some better since heart surgery, but still very sluggish. So Colin, I never knew about the food, and things effecting the situation.  I do not know what the normal range is, but I suspect that I am in the lower range of normal. Still experiencing lots of itchy dry skin and sluggishness low energy and loss of hair, but that could still be the daily dose of "letrozole", a maintenience tablet (chemo) for the Breast cancer from 2015. I suspect though, that My dose is not just right yet..they removed my thyroid the Doctor started this dose and moved out of area, and no one has ever checked it again.
