Title: Ancient pre-life oceans and carbolic acid?
Post by: Europan Ocean on 10/09/2014 14:44:29
Looking at the idea of the Earth's early history and it's seas, lakes and carbon dioxide atmosphere, how was it that the water was not full of carbolic acid, that would kill bacteria?

How could the first cells survive?

Because carbolic acid is not the same as carbonic acid

So a carbonic acid sea could support the first cells, like algae?
