Title: How do I ping my blog to search engines and aggregators?

my question is that how can i ping my blog to various search engines.. viz google yahoo etc... can any one help in this order.. i had tried earlier then i failed in doing that.. if any one knows the trick give me your suggesions... [;D] [;D]

Do sensible search engines ignore posts that are titled in capital letters?

I added a ping list to my wordpress blog, but everytime my page loaded it seemed to slow down the blog.
I have started using <a href="http://www.blogbuzzer.com">BlogBuzzer.com<a/> which automatically pings my blog to all of the directories.
