Title: How can music sound like it's circling around my head?
Post by: Marianne on 26/03/2011 17:30:02
Marianne asked the Naked Scientists:

With my headphones on my ears, why does the music "sound" like it's revolving around my head? as if I have a circular headphone on?

What do you think?

You use both ears to define a sounds direction. And although I doubt that it's that easy to define it coming from diagonally above for example, our brains are some pretty smart 'wet work':)

As a guess.
