hey guys,

i need a bit of help with a chem question. How do you make your own carbon dioxide fire extingisher?

I understand how the CO2 works to put out fires, but I cant seem to think of a way to use it in a practical matter.

Any help would be appreciated []

Bicarbonate of soda contains CO2 locked up, you can release it with acid or heat, so if you throw it at a fire it will release CO2 which will smother the fire.

This is pretty much how powder fire extinguishers work
