Title: Dr Beaver, ewe Must Love Wolves In Yellowstone Park !
Post by: neilep on 02/04/2009 02:51:50
Dearest Dr beave,

To think that ewe should love wolves would probably be akin to asking a mouse if it loves being eaten by a cat !

But it seems the abundant population of beavers in Yellowstone park is directly related to the return of the wolves.

Ewe see (if I recall correctly)...Elk were eating all the trees and stuff that the beavers were using to make dams...in fact they were eating so much of it that it almost drove the beaver numbers to zero...then...a few years ago...wolves returned to Yellowstone National Park....and they chase the Elk, the Elk do not get a chance to eat all the beaver dam stuff and thus more dams are built and the beaver numbers thrive too.

The correlation is very accurate as there was a marked increase in beaver population the very year that wolves returned !

So, love the wolf dr beave  [:)]
