Title: How Does A Ventriliquist Ventriliquate ?
Post by: neilep on 15/04/2008 13:35:48
Question 2 in a series of 478 linguistic orientated questions !

"get me out of here"....LOL...that's me really...not someone in the cupboard behind you !...fooled you though didn't I ?

Does a Ventriloquist really throw their voice ?...ie: does it really appear to be coming from another location besides the ventriloquists gob ?...or is it just an illusion because the mouth is not really moving ?

How Does A Ventriloquist Ventriliquate ? (cool word eh ?)

"let me out !!..over here !!"....ha ha...got ewe again !! *le sigh*

I was always told that they can actually learn to throw thier voice in a manner of speaking.... I believe there really is a technique to it. I love Ventilliquism....... I always wanted to do that and be a traveling puppeteer or ventrilliqist.. I loved to watch Charlie Macarthy... years ago!

Ventriloquism is the art of redirection and letter substitution.

It's an aural illusion, similar to an optical one, a trick.

Ventriloquism is like juggling though... very rare to make a career out of it...
