Has there been any scientific research and tests in measuring the intelligence of your average pet dog and comparing it with other animals either wild or domesticated?"[/b][/i]I did see an experiment on pigs which concluded that they are more intelligent than dogs.
What do you think?
The paradox seems to quickly dismiss that sitting still wasting time is a third option, which makes the situation a false dichotomy. In this case, wasting time indefinitely is the worst possible option, which should be avoided. When the other two options are equally good, then choosing randomly would be great. There is a third option. There is a reason for your choice and itís known to you.

Please forgive me as I am now on a ship and have a very limited connectionBig ship I assume; Iím a by the wind sailor so I have a great deal of respect for the big ships and their crews.
I can fart 160 ergs.Oh no, one of those silent farters. A weapon of unimaginable area clearance capability.
I presume it was very early AprilVery, very early.
from an old Mathematician, feeling very sad that no one cares for Mathematics).I canít agree with this statement.
P.S. Did I mention that users can comment and support Mathematics here at https://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/index.php?topic=82507.20 ?I donít see how this thread Ďsupportsí mathematics.
Hey guys!Iím glad youíve heard of Poland and Ukraine, thatís a good start.
Yes, I know I know, this is a science forum and I like it a lot. But I need a piece of advice. Where to outsource my development team. I have a digital agency in the US but would like to expand it to Europe, I heard of Poland or Ukraine? How do you think?
you win and I am a foolI donít think you are, but you have dropped into a very long and complex discussion with people who have been thinking about and discussing it for a while.
What galvanised me into plotting that was arguments with other cyclists who seem to think that muscle is a perpetual motion machine that produces free energy out of thin air.that surprises me, what do they think they are doing when they carb load or take on a sugar drink during a spin. Have they never suffered Ďthe bonkí?
I still believeIf this were a religion forum then your belief would count for something, but here we look for evidence.
the harder we hit the louder the sound but no sonic boom only impact noise.Your argument is fallacious.
I am doing a research project where I need to know the maximum capacity of all ballast tanks on a cargo ship, proportional to the ship size, for a number of different ship types (bulk carriers, tankers, general cargo, container ships, etc). Is this different depending on ship type? Is there somewhere I can look up the information? I assume it must be broadly basic information that a ship design engineer would have on hand...I suspect this is something the ship designer would have to derive as it would depend not only on ship size and type but on the specific loading distribution. It think the specialist forum is your best bet. I know some yacht designers but no big ship.
I thought that the sound of hand-clapping was just the sound that is made by objects colliding together is the bang of a car crash a supersonic bang I do not think so.As @Halc says, it is more complicated than that. Itís not the hands that break the sound barrier, as I said itís the escaping air.
I would be interested to hear your version of why a thunder boom sometimes can last for a number of seconds and not just have one loud bang. Most people think of the thunder bang as coming from the lightning strike, but as you say, it comes from the heated air as the lightning passes through the air. Not only are there multiples strikes in what we see as one bolt, but the length of the bolt can be typically 2-3 miles with sound being generated from points all along the length which will reach us at different times. A lot of lightning is cloud to cloud rather than ground strike, so the degree of rumble you hear will depend on the orientation of the bolt relative to your position. The time of sound travel will also depend on temperature with higher, colder air giving slower times.
A new scientific study has shown that honey has special characteristics that help to defend against germs. ...........Honey is a complicated compound that is consists of 800 molecules. This complication makes it difficult for scientists to fully understand the honey's mechanism of resisting and killing the bacteria. scientist Dekarter says: "until now, we have not found the method the honey apply to resist bacteria, but most likely there is the molecule" Methylglyoxal ", which is part of the honey, that reacts with other molecules which we have not discovered yet , to become able to inhibit bacteria from multiplying and making new generations that have the ability to resist to antibiotics. "It is not clear to me whether you are providing misinformation about honey or preaching.
Yes, the bang that is heard is the whip at its very end exceeding the speed of sound and collapsing the waves around it. It is not the same as the sound that is heard by clapping our hands.Iím not sure what you mean by ďIt is not the same as the sound that is heard by clapping our hands.Ē the sound envelope and spectrum are different, but the cause is the same - something pushing air faster than the speed of sound.
..... or the tip of a whip as it is cracked the sound that is heard is an expanding faster than a sound wave. The pressure wave is still travelling at the speed of sound because it is a sound wave.
