Title: Could there be an ancient town near Chitterene?
Post by: thedoc on 20/06/2016 21:50:02
Randall Bennett asked the Naked Scientists:
Hey, I LOVE your show. I listen to the podcast (http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/podcasts/) as often as I can. Call me silly, but I enjoy scanning through Google Earth looking for interesting things. Your program, along with years of watching "Time Team" has made me focus on England. This may be completely already known or an artifact of Google Earth (GE), but this is quite interesting what I came across. I can't send you any images, but If you were to go onto GE and move the view over a town called "Chitterene", and "Chitterne Anstey" it would appear that there is some really old, possibly an entire town under the tilled fields surrounding those towns. The forms look exactly like what "geo-phys" images appear in Time Team. I probably need to get a new hobby, but what if?
Thank you,
Randall
What do you think?
