preventing cross-firing, thought to be a cause of epilepsy.
Krpytid,Perhaps you could peruse the OP before replying? Maybe first look up "peruse," please? -G

The rationale behind cutting the corpus callosum was that neurologists hoped to limit the spread of the epileptiform activity, preventing it from overwhelming both hemispheres and therefore abolishing grand-mal seizures, unless that's what you meant by "cross firing"?

You've missed the point and blown off the question. Nice cartoons, though.

The MRI of the hemispherectomy isn't a cartoon. If their soul was in the half of the brain removed, then evidently souls are not essential.
RD,No brain hemispheres are removed in the SB surgery. -G.

I requested replies from informed posters so that I would not have to deal with ignorant comments. No brain hemispheres are removed in the SB surgery.

Both the right hemisphere and left hemisphere have been removed from people before, so you can't say that the soul is in either one in particular. You also can't say it is in the dominant hemisphere, as hemispherectomies of the dominant hemisphere have been performed as well. Well, I guess you could say that, which would imply that these people are P-zombies. How you could tell is beyond me.
Your hypothesis was: does the hypothetical "human soul" exist in one hemisphere of the brain ?.If your hypothesis is true, the fact that some people have had a hemisphere removed is evidence that souls are not necessary.

Had you paid attention, you'd have realized that I referred to the original Sperry-Gazzoniga studies of split-brain patients, not to those who've had half their brain removed. Try reading what I actually wrote instead of interjecting stuff to manufacture your point. I have no respect whatsoever for you and people like you, and will choose to ignore further comments you might make unless you can upgrade your standards. As of now you are just a waste of my time. Sorry if you feel insulted, but don't take it personally. Like I said, I disrespect all those who misrepresent another's words.
This provides a potential mechanism for identifying the differences between soul/beon and brain, and for experimentally verifying the existence of a suitably defined (e.g. physical) human soul.
Can't you read any better than Kryptid? Am I dealing with a gaggle of zombie clones on this forum, or progressive socialists? Will anyone on this forum with a 3-digit IQ, measured via the decimal rather than octal numeric base, who actually knows how to read and is not a moderator, please step up? Or have you all been driven away by the same kind of incompetent misrepresentation at the hands (I cannot comfortably use the word "minds" in this context) of high mucky-muck Forum Kings and Hero members? -G
