Go Kadie Good girl.

1-Organize pictures!
2-Do a puzzle
3- read a book or the forum
4- rearrange your kitchen cabinets
5- write a letter to a friend
6- write some goals for yourself
7- save all the money you spend a week on cigarettes so you and I can go to england! LOL
8-make a piece of artwork for your living room that represents this goal in your life to leave cigarettes behind.. It could be a cool collage!
9- sing a song
10-design your self a new hair style

Go for a long walk. It's a question of refocussing your mind so that you don't think about it, as well as breaking the routine that evolves around smoking.

Did I miss the first part of the thread? What prompted you to quit in the first place? It is, I've found, good to remember very clearly why you gave up, and remember this if you feel yourself weakening.

ok - up to speed now!

I'm sure you've seen this, but anyhow....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bronchitis

"Treatment
In most cases, acute bronchitis is caused by viruses, not bacteria and it will go away on its own after a few days without antibiotics. To treat acute bronchitis that appears to be caused by a bacterial infection, or as a precaution, antibiotics may be given.[1]

To help the bronchial tree heal faster and not make bronchitis worse, smokers should cut down on the number of cigarettes they smoke, or quit altogether."

....so well done!

I gave up 2 years ago, and it's fine. Now I don't get that lung wheeze when I'm lying down, and absolutely have no desire to have another ever again!

Here is something written by Hadrian.

Make a list of the reasons why you want to stop, and keep them with you. Look to them when tempted to smoke. Make a date for stopping, and stop entirely.  Trying to stop gradually in not likely to work. Research has revealed that if you smoke fewer cigarettes than usual, you are likely to inhale more of the smoke of each cigarette, and nicotine levels remain almost the same.  It is best to stop once and for all from a set date.

Inform everyone that you are giving up smoking. Burn all of your all bridges. Friends and family will give support and may help you too. If others smoke in the household or office this can make giving up more difficult then is has to be. If you can, try to get others around you who smoke to stop smoking at the same time. A real 'team' effort may be easier than going it alone.
Get rid of ashtrays, lighters, and all cigarettes. Get rid of anything that triggers smoking. That’s why it is a good idea to keep a journal for a week or so leading up to giving up. It will revel the triggers in your dally life as well as the events and places that remind you to smoke. Note down what you are doing or had just done when you felt like smoking and anything else that might have triggered it too. With this information you will be able to avoid these triggers.

Be prepared for some withdrawal symptoms. When you stop smoking, you are probable going to get symptoms which may include: nausea (feeling sick), headaches, anxiety, irritability, craving, and just feeling awful. These symptoms are caused by the lack of nicotine that your body has been used to. They tend to peak after 12-24 hours, and then gradually ease over 2-4 weeks. If you are a coffee, Coke or red bull drinker you can really reduce your symptoms by cutting out caffeine from your diet for two or three week before you stop smoking. This is due to the fact the nicotine affect the bodies ability to deal with caffeine.

Anticipate a cough. It is normal for a 'smokers cough' to get worse when you stop smoking (as the airways 'come back to life'). Many people say that this makes them feel worse for a while after stopping smoking and makes them tempted to restart smoking. Resist this temptation! The cough usually gradually eases.

Take one day at a time. Mark off each successful day on a calendar. Look at it when you feel tempted to smoke, and tell yourself that you don't want to start all over again.
Be positive. You can tell people that you don't smoke. You will smell better. After a few weeks you should feel better, taste your food more, and cough less. You will have more money. Perhaps put away the money you would have spent on cigarettes for treats

It's hard, but you can do it, and I guarantee you'll feel so much better.

Try to stay busy and when you feel the urge, which at this point I'm sure is continuous, remind yourself that you've come 14 hours and you don't want to start over....then 15 hours....then 16 hours...etc.

Most people I know have just given up there and then !!...although the 'cold turkey ' is not fun it passes !!....eat celery !!...and think of all the money you'll save !!

You might be surprised to know that cigs are taxed so much over here (UK) that a pack of twenty Marlboro Lights are about $12 !!

Put the money you would spend on smoking in the bank and buy you something pretty at the end of a year.  At a pack a day that'll be almost $1,500.00.
