Antibiotics. Proper strong stuff from hospitals. I have heard of doctors end up prescribing those dainty little bottles from the supermarket that are the gut bacteria stuff.

If you think that (UK) supermarkets sell antibiotics you are not well enough informed to be giving advice.

Antibiotics are noted for upsetting teh stomach- bloating is a fairly typical symptom.
PC is suggesting treating bloating with drugs likely to induce it.

It's as if he didn't understand this bit.

Ahh thank goodness for the disclaimer.

The question asks for something to kill bacteria in the gut, the hospital grade antibiotics will do the job, hospital ergo not without very serious doctor prescribing. Killing the bacteria ergo no bacteria ergo needing something to replace the bacteria ergo little hospital pots of microbiotics or gut bacteria.

Ergo I wonder what happens if you drop antibiotics into bacteria culture is it like coke and mentos.?

Because it's a honest open forum that doesn't play favourite's and people find that harsh, it isn't ruled by moderators opinions but by rules that are applied by moderators. It has free speech. Fortunately it's content is mostly maths and science based, these are not popular amongst the egotistical as its content is not something that can be opinionated or posture upon, it's quite hard to take argument with reason.

It's amazing how few people are banned really, the spammers are about the only ones who get banned outright.

Makes you wonder if our perception of time increace as we become larger. Is childhood a significantly different  time frame.  It does seem the smaller the animal the faster it moves, time you would logically think is similarly different.

Morality evolves, especially in the church, somethings today are allowed that they would have crucified you for in the past.

Morality evolves, but people seem to forget that, they also seem to forget that it is usually a hard won thing. Take the vote for instance, in the UK it is only a century since all peoples could vote, the class system then began to erode. Before that if you where working class you had child labour, starvation, bad water. This was morally acceptable.

Bitcoin costs somewhere in the region of 20,000usd to produce, a US dollar bill costs cents to print, most conve tional currency does not exist, is created almost without cost.

 People will want to trace and guard their bitcoin from theft, catch the badguys protect from foreign agents doing harm, have a stable system from erratic prices. These things require governments and armies and management.

Hi. I was thinking about steam engines to run on electricity. It says to run 1HP need 40,000 btu.

The economies of scale will be paramount, the smaller the engine the larger the ineficieny.

There has been research on Pavlovian conditioned immune responses. Rats were made to be allergic to egg albumin (egg protein) through psychological conditioning. To do this, rats were fed egg albumin, while the feeding was paired with a novel stimulus (taste, visual, or audio cue).

After the association was made, when rats were exposed to only the cue (in the absence of egg albumin) their immune systems began producing antibodies specific to the egg albumin. When the rats were fed egg albumin again, they had an allergic reaction. The researchers noted that lesions to the insular cortex (part of the brain) prevented the conditioned immune response, while lesions to the hippocampus did not. They concluded that the insular cortex not only regulates emotions but also immune responses.

What this means is allergies, the immune system, and the brain are very closely linked together. The immune system and brain both communicate with each other, bidirectionally.

This has less credibility than homeopathy, at least a diluted form of homeopathy is known to lessen people's allergies by gradually allowing there bodies to adjust. It is the body and not the mind.
