Title: Some random thoughts
Post by: jeffreyH on 20/08/2016 17:00:07
The force of gravity can accelerate a photon but not change its speed. Therefore a deflection from a straight line path is inferred. A separate but related phenomenon is that the change in wavelength of a photon is a change in the photons kinetic energy. Since momentum is a vector which is used in the formulation of kinetic energy then a deflection of direction has to relate directly to a change in wavelength.

This implies that a gravitational field will ALWAYS deflect the path of a photon. Even when it is moving directly away from the centre of gravity. This implies a randomness in the directional paths of the graviton. That is the paths are not all moving directly away from the centre of mass.

You are using words out of context with their meaning. And there is no graviton.

Out of context with respect to what? Do you disagree that gravity deflects the path of a photon away from a straight line? Have you ever heard of gravitational lensing? If there are gravitational waves then there is a particle causing them.

Define graviton. As a main stream term it describes a particle gluing mass together and avoiding an aether style matrix in space. Yes I understand the lensing observations. So what is being dilated as a convex lens? Current belief is the lensing is compression when it is likely the opposite, a dilation of energy c. Gravity will not deflect a photon straight out of a gravity well. The vector relationship to dilated space moves out of the dilated space in all angles. You view a photon as a particle when actually, more likely a photon is a wave on the material that is being dilated. This should be an energy particle pervasive through space as c and the only type of aether not included in the MMX experiment as disproven. Main stream keeps coming back to it, currently with Dark Energy. The problem is main stream is trying to attach it to the current model and maintain a belief, no type of aether. Sort of like a virtual particle, particle. Unless you are able to scrap what you think you know in favor of what is observed (like lensing of galaxies) there will be no progress.

Many new theories do not follow Relativistic observations but at least they come from a thinking person rather than a parrot. I am not calling you a parrot. I have read allot of what you have written and respect your mind. I believe in Relativity completely. I do not believe the interpretations described by main stream. A energy ether would create a case where Relativity follow mechanics. Dilation of energy is the gamma term in Relativity. Current theory suggests dilation of nothing.

Sorry for my tirade. I am frustrated with terms being forced to follow current theory while moving away from the logic of observations.

The force of gravity can accelerate a photon but not change its speed.

Acceleration is a change in momentum, p. Momentum is a vector. So a gravitational field can accelerate a photon by altering its direction or energy (since p = E/c). Or both.
