Title: Is the brightness of Venus changing?

Hello. Talking from Southern Brazil.
  After a few weeks down here, Venus is developing an "absurd" brightness..
  I'm looking at it on the last 7 day and it's brightness is very unusual, to the point if I did know what it was(Venus) I would swear that it is very distant nova...

 Now I do not have a telescope anymore, also I lost contact with the few Brazilian astronomers that share the habit with me back there, so I would like to ask if someone can take a look at it...  I'm looking to some other recent pictures world wide and maybe due poor cameras it's not even close of the naked eye brightness I'm observing from here...

 So for the sake of curiosity, I would like someone to take a look on Venus itself with a telescope.
 And also to do some calculation and take a look on the "position" where Venus should be passing by over my region(Rio Grande do Sul/Southern Brazil) with the the Atlantic ocean to my left(south) I'm observing towards the region which would be (West/Northwest) 07/12/2016 10:00PM (-Brasilia)...

 My remaining cameras are not good and they cannot capture the brightness my eye sight is experiencing...

 I'm not sure what event is taking place, no longer I can't confirm that It Venus or something much beyond our system that is giving the impression to be Venus... The brightness variate in no time, from strong to pale, but it does produce the same effect the sunset and sunrise does...
  I've already saw Venus as a bight planet, but not with such patterns, I only seeking confirmation that this is not the incoming light of a past event much beyond our system...
  There's a event happening there, being it a local event on Venus, or beyond, but something is producing that, It's just like as being watching sun from a higher distance in lower scale...

Venus does have phases, like the moon does. Currently about 2/3 of the visible disc is illuminated, and it is waxing (getting brighter). The link below allows you to see simulated images of Venus from Earth (among others) at any date you like. I would send you a picture from my telescope, but it is overcast here, I think Venus has also already set...

Here, we observe it to be very bright, which is not necessarily an error because Venus does get very bright when it is approaching the Earth.  If you are in the southern Hemisphere, you probably have less atmospheric obscuration, which would make it appear especially bright.

 Much appreciated, I'll be taking a look.  I was really amazed by the brightness.
 Do not know the word in English to describe. like the same sort of the sunset/sunrise on ISS, that six needles around the object...
  My telescope was a very bad one, but I wish I had it cause I'm good with stelarium and cardinals, but I'm really lost on the sky down here without any reference, only to make sure I was looking to Venus or some distant event.  The only certain I have is that it was moving from the right(east) to the left before sunset(west) from my position, crossed half of my horizon on less than 40 minutes...

  Sure down here the sky have never being so clear at night, seems to be even that this is no longer our "usuall" sky, with different winds and scorching days...  Today I experienced a rain with no dense clouds, also the whole last two weeks has being of low cloud formation, and dense clouds above, I work with glass rooftops, so I was witnessing a huge sun halo back on Monday...
 But you're probably right, I agree, the event should be here at our southern sky...

I did run the simulator. It's amazing...
  I noticed that looking from The sun, towards venus with a angle with 120°, at 22:10 7/12/2016 (extra brightness), lots of planet activities on that sector last weeks...

  Just one ordinary question, running the simulator and input the commands, or simple click on the link, is that a cluster?
 Head line: "View of Venus From the Sun" wrote with green on the top corner, trace a imaginary line down from the letter "U" on (sun), you'll reach on it, big "purple" stuff, cluster?
 And more to the left side of that, almost at the edge of the simulation, that red sphere, from which constellation that star should be?
 It's just that without a telescope I want to make sure that I was looking at the right direction and not another event...

 And why is that?
 Because is weirdo picture from a cluster that's further away, or something?
  Or because we share the same astronomical level when the issue is coordinates?

 But you found both the "objects"? I'm just curious cause I'm not sure that I was observing Venus on the sky those last days, I mean it was clearly moving, but also was I...
