Title: Back up
Post by: Drewau2005 on 23/05/2005 00:37:31
Hi

Imagine a glass tube 10 mm in diameter and 20 mm in length connected at its bottom to a shallow glass dish. The dish has a depth of around 10mm and a diameter of 30 mm. The tube has 4 retangular slots cut in it at the bottom which are 5mm long by 3 mm wide.

I was wondering how you calculate the back up rate; that is how quickly liquid poured into the tube at the top would back up the tube versus it spilling over the side of the dish ?[:I]

Please be gentle, I am an amateur!

Many thanks
Drew
