Title: What would happen if a second notochord was implanted in an embryo?
Post by: 113zami on 29/07/2008 21:05:25
sorry, I didn't know where to post this qustion, there is no embryology section

if you implant a 2nd notochord under the one that is forming already in a developing frog embryo, what would you get?
my attempt is you would get somite or archentron since these are the things under the notocord, but I have no idea
can someone please help??

THanks

I think the notochord induces a second neuralation event; animals in which the notochord accidentally divides can end up with two neuraxes.
